DMDA Issues Call for Proposals for
Interoperability Solutions
October 16, 2002 - The Digital Media Device Association Interoperability Working Group (DMDA-IWG) is now accepting
submissions on its
Call for Proposals (CfP) for Interoperability Solutions for Digital Media
Devices. The result of the Call will be a Specification for device
interoperability that DMDA intends to publish in 2003.
The CfP is part of DMDA's efforts to develop a voluntary standard for remote
discovery and control of devices such as MP3 players, which will enable
consumers to search, locate, and manage content across multiple audio devices in
a network.
Between now and midnight December 9, 2002, persons or companies wishing to
submit technology for consideration by DMDA-IWG must register their intentions
via email. Proponents will be invited to present their solutions to the DMDA-IWG in 2003. Complete instructions are included in the
Call.
